I am always looking for unique things for baby to wear at their first photo shoots. Upon looking it seemed evident to me that really there is not much out there. Out came my sewing machine and fabrics and of course ribbon. Here you have the cutest little outfit to wrap that new bundle in for that first photography session. Some call them pods, swaddlers, cocoons even. This one I call the photo pod. They are not intended for baby to sleep in overnight. Made from lightweight knit so perfect for that hot summer shoot. I have even made a matching little hat, which can be used for everyday use. All seams are serged and ribbon is sealed to prevent fraying. All roses are handmade and stitched on. Easy to get on baby. Just scrunch it up like a sock and put over babies feet and slide upwards toward neck. Slide those little arms inside or leave them out.

Virginia Turner Doll
Oh I am so happy. I just purchase this doll on ebay for a really resonable price. She is so pretty, and very life like don't you think? She stands 28 inches tall. I think she needs a name. Would you like to help name her? Oh I can also use her as a photo prop for some of crochet items I sell. Squeels of delight here!

Well today was another cold one. My jeep wouldn't start, AGAIN! So there was no going shopping for me. I had a custom order I was going to leave until tomorrow but since I was stuck at home figured I would just make it. The colors had me a little concerned. Yellow,lime green, turquiose and pink. The lady wanted yellow as the main. Well after playing with the colors for a little while I finally came across something that worked. Here it is.

My Grandma's Engagement Ring.
My Grandmother passed away 6th November 2008. I loved her dearly, and still do. She was my rock. Always there when I needed a shoulder to cry on. Always the straight shooter. She would tell you exactly what she thought and never sugar coated anything. I was not able to go to her funeral. You see she was in New Zealand and I was in the USA. It just tore me apart not to be there. November 2008 was not a good year. My husbands mother, my mother-in-law whom I loved dearly was very sick too. These two people whom I adored both died within 10 days of one another. My birthday 26th November was needless to say it was a very somber one for me. Anyway. My grandmother left me her engagement ring. It has been in New Zealand for the past year waiting to get to me. I did not want it posted to me as I was so worried it would go missing in the mail. My bestfriends husband was coming to the states. This would be the perfect person to bring it to me safely. Well this birthday couldn't have been anymore special if I had tried. I recieved nana's ring on my birthday! Yes there were tears. The flood gates opened. But happy tears. I now have a peice of nana with me for all time. It has a place around my neck on a chain. Close to my heart forever. Thank you nana. Here is a picture of nana's ring.
